Gardens of Distinction program replaces Maisons Fleuries/Le programme Jardins d’exception

The Maisons Fleuries program has been a mainstay in Côte Saint-Luc for decades. Each summer judges would circulate throughout the city and rank the floral arrangements of homes, highrises and businesses. An award ceremony would follow in the fall.

A big thanks to Councillor Andee Shuster who proposed a new format for this year which our Parks and Recreation Department embraced. I co-chair the program with Councillor Sidney Benizri and we both concurred that Shuster’s idea of  the Gardens of Distinction program was a good one. The aim is to recognize and celebrate residents who help beautify our community through outstanding garden design. Whether through creativity, maintenance, plant diversity, or harmony with the environment, these gardens reflect their owners’ pride and inspire their neighbours. By showcasing these spaces, the city seeks to promote urban beauty, sustainability, and a shared sense of civic pride. There will be no judges. Everyone will be a winner. You just need to fill out the nomination form and include a photo of your garden. We will deliver   a sign to place in front of your home or business as Councillor Benizri and I  did earlier this week.
