We welcome new Police 9 Commander Lizotte

There is a new police commander for Station 9, which covers Côte Saint-Luc, Hampstead, Montreal West and NDG. Mathieu Lizotte has succeeded Mathieu Fournier-Landry in the post.

City Council met with Commander Lizotte last week and we had an excellent opportunity to share our views and concerns. Like his predecessors, he was most gracious in taking our questions.

Commander Lizotte meets with city council. Le commandant Lizotte rencontre le conseil municipal.

Commander Lizotte has 22 years of experience with the Montreal Police Department. He was most recently chief of operations for overseeing demonstrations. I appreciate the collaboration our local police commanders have  exercised towards Côte Saint-Luc over the years and we are fortunate that the Station 9 headquarters remains in our community on Westminster Avenue.

I personally raised concern about vehicle thefts which continue to occur on our streets, speeding in certain areas and “policing” electric scooters.   We also discussed security for community institutions.

Let me also take this opportunity  to commend our Public Safety Department, which works exceptionally close with the police. Division Chiefs Jean-Marc Dubois and Anthony Tzakon were present at our meeting.
