Deville Dinerbar adapts to the new normal with curbside pickup

Deville Dinerbar Reopening and Takeout Options

After months of planning, the Tzemopoulos family reopened their trendy downtown Stanley Street Deville Dinerbar (www.devilledinerbar.com) last summer. The family also operates Reuben’s Deli & Steakhouse on St. Catherine Street, which remains closed. They operate under the RD3 Restaurant Group.

Founded in 2011, Deville pays homage to classic diners with a modern touch. The restaurant features a massive bar offering house cocktails and alcohol-infused craft shakes. Signature dishes include Adam’s Beef Back Ribs, Crispy Mac and Cheese Stuffed Wontons, and premium steaks from 100 percent Canadian grass-fed beef.

During government-mandated dining restrictions, the Tzemopoulos brothers introduced the Double D Pop-Up Shop, a takeout counter focusing on foot traffic and grab-and-go options. Customers can order premium burgers and shakes without entering the restaurant. Safety measures were strictly implemented, including digital menus, limited group reservations, mask requirements, and rigorous staff hygiene protocols.

The Deville curbside pickup option also remains in place. Simply call ahead, pull up nearby, and your order will be brought to your car. Recently, I picked up a lunch to enjoy at the office over three days. The Crispy Mac and Cheese Wontons were a perfect starter, followed by salt and pepper calamari. Lunch day one was the diner club with fries, day two featured Adam’s famous beef back ribs with fries, and day three included Firebird Chicken from the pop-up menu. Desserts included the Big Easy Beignets and apple pie (without ice cream), along with a Little Havana mocktail.
