Accidents cause serious damage to traffic lights at two important intersections

For the second time in two months, traffic lights are out at an important Côte Saint-Luc intersection due to a car accident.

Early Sunday morning, August 17, a male driver in his 50s lost control of his vehicle and took out a pole and the traffic light at the corner of  Cavendish and Kildare. There were no injuries on the scene. Our Public Works  was called in to safely disconnect the pole, remove the downed traffic light and cleanup debris. For the moment we have deployed STOP signs while  we wait for the lights to be repaired.

A few months ago there was another  car accident at the corner of Kellert and Kildare Road. The control panel for the lights was severely damaged. STOP signs were added while we awaited for news on difficult parts to secure. In the meantime, our legal team was able to secure more than $80,000 and parts from the insurance company of the driver at fault to cover the financial liability of undertaking the repairs. We still do not have a timetable when that will be done.

  1. The City of CSL must provide a security or police to direct traffic at the most busiest intersection!!!! Someone will get killed if this doesn’t happen. I hope this doesn’t happen.
