David Tordjman has won the Côte Saint-Luc election by one vote; recount likely

Across Quebec, including of course Côte Saint-Luc, municipal elections were held on Sunday, November 2. Lior Azerad in District 5 and myself (District 2) were acclaimed to office last month, with no opposition.

When all of the votes were counted, Mayor Mitchell Brownstein was declared the winner by 50 votes versus David Tordjman. Elections Quebec has just declared Tordjman the winner by one vote, with revised figures. We are clearly headed for a recount. There were also 229 rejected ballots.

Here are the results.

I wish to congratulate the winning candidates and the others who put their names forward. Being a municipal elected official is no easy task. In fact over the last several years it has become more challenging due to acts of disrespect and cyberbullying on the part of some citizens. We all work exceedingly hard, advocating for our constituents and assuming important porfolios. Now we must get back to the business of running our city, with immediate priorities being plans for the 2026 budget and the adoption of our master plan. However, we cannot do so until we know who our mayor is.
