Rembrandt Park Report Card Ahead of the Summer Season/

2025withJordanThierry

With Thierry Dhaisne and Jordan Guetta.

Last week I met with two senior members of our Public Works Department, Jordan Guetta and Thierry Dhaisne, to do a walkabout at Rembrandt Park and conduct a review.

  • The rim and backboard for the kids basketball court will be replaced soon.
  • Equipment for toddlers will be checked for safety.
  • The park equipment will be evaluated at the end of month
  • The pathway that fills with water each year will be filled with grass.
  • In the last few years the roof has been replaced on the chalet, a new handicapped accessible bathrooms and new water fountains have been installed.
  • I have asked that the unused petanque court be moved and replaced with more greenspace.
  • One of the picnic tables on the soccer field will be moved to a more appropriate place.

Each park gets specific allocations. Over the last decade, Rembrandt has benefitted from a generous array of allocations. The lighting for the tennis courts has been changed, a permanent ping pong table installed and the basketball courts were completely redone. The kids court was a new addition. Several pathways were fixed as well.

2025path

Removing the leaky path.

In the Capital Expenditures Plan over the next three years, Public Works plans to replace the stairs of the external amphitheatre , add a glide wheelchair swing to the park and replace the light fixtures. In the interim, lights will be checked.

2025petanque

The petanque courts need to be removed.
