SAQ is closing its doors at the Quartier Cavendish (Mall); new toilet facilities

According to reliable sources, the SAQ outlet at  the Quartier Cavendish (formerly the Cavendish Mall) will be  closing its  doors  around Passover time. Even though this seems to be the destination for kosher consumers, the SAQ has deemed their sales not high enough to warrant this store staying open. Furthermore, I am told that the SAQ will not be permitting the IGA to sell kosher wine. So the only place to get kosher wine (and liquor) will be the SAQ outlet at the  Côte Saint-Luc Shopping Centre, an inconvenience for most CSL residents to say the least.

There is, though, some good news at the Quartier as renovations of the public restrooms are now complete. The renovations were indeed  inconvenient,  with only two individual public restrooms available. However the new ones offer much greater space and they are 100 percent  barrier free (automatic toilets, sinks, soap dispensers and no doors to get in). The new restrooms are aksi wheelchair accessible and they have also added a family restroom for parents with young children and a dedicated handicap restroom for visitors requiring assistance. This update certainly brings the facilities to the same level as any other modern shopping centre.
