Westbound lanes of Kiidare Road to be closed

Here is an important notice from our Mayor of Côte Saint-Luc, Anthony Housefather.

Dear residents,

The westbound lanes of Kildare Rd. (the side closest to the Cavendish Mall) between Cavendish Blvd. and Kellert Ave. will be temporary closed from approximately Monday, September 12 to Friday, September 16, 2011 so that construction crews preparing the infrastructure at the new residential development can connect sewer lines and electrical power cables.

The lane closures were, unfortunately, necessary. While motorists will be able to drive in both directions on the other side of Kildare Rd. with one lane open in each direction, it will take longer for you to get to your destination, so please give yourself extra time if using Kildare. We would encourage you to please consider alternate routes to avoid that stretch of road.

We are going to do everything possible to improve the flow of traffic while lanes are closed. Our Public Safety Department is deploying its Public Security agents and Volunteer Citizens on Patrol (vCOP) to help improve traffic flow and ensure the safety of pedestrians who need to cross at the Cavendish/Kildare intersection. Officers from Neighbourhood Police Station 9 will also be involved.

The new residential development on the southern part of the Cavendish Mall site will be a beautiful area for residents to walk, jog, or bicycle through when the major sections are completed in 2012. In the mean time, there will be some inconveniences. Please rest assured that I am personally monitoring the situation to ensure that these inconveniences are minimized to the greatest degree possible.
